The M/V Andaman Tritan, formerly known as the DiveRACE, is the least expensive of the Thailand liveaboards visiting the Similan Islands that has en-suite cabins.
5 of the cabins are ensuite and there are a further 4 cabins which share bathroom facilities. All cabins are air-conditioned and the boat features an extensive dive deck as well as full entertainment and safety facilities. With a capacity of only 16 divers, there are many liveaboard boats larger than the Andaman Tritan, however it feels like a bigger boat since there is always plenty of space, whether you're in the shaded outdoor dining area, the air-conditioned saloon or on the sundeck.
With nitrox on board and with 7 crew and 3 dive masters, you can see why many consider the M/V Andaman Tritan to provide all the services and attention you would wish when diving around Thailand's west coast, whether it's around the Similan Islands, Hin Daeng or Phi Phi.
Guests tend to spend their time in the huge dining area where the meals served are a mixture of Thai and international cuisine, or for the sun lovers there is a large sundeck on the upper deck where you can work on your tan between dives.
Notes: Participants are recommended to have PADI Advanced Open Water or Adventure Deep Dive certification to get the most from the trip. Open Water certified divers with maximum depth limitation of 18 meters must have minimum 10 logged dives to join the trip. Otherwise, Advanced Open Water Diver course is mandatory on board.
Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinking water, hot drinks, return transfers to the boat from Phuket hotels in tourist areas (Kata, Karon, Patong) and Khao Lak (extra charge for transfers from outside Khao Lak center), dives (as detailed in the trips above), experienced English-speaking divemaster(s), (4-5 divers per DM), tanks, weights and weightbelts, torches.

"Equipment : I didn't borrow any dive gear but the rental equipment seems to be good condition. Staff : All of dive masters and boat staffs were very kind and friendly. Facilities : Air conditioner and some facilities have some problem, but most of them were well managed and cleaned up by staffs. " - Han Suk Woo, South Korea, 03 January 2017 ...
"Great liveaboard operator with very good diving planning. We had some issue with equipment quality though as there was a problem with the BCS they gave to my friend, which spoiled 1 dive. But overall, very good experience, good boat, very caring staff and nice sites." - Jules Bres, France, 11 September 2014 ...
"The facilities on the boat were incredible for a 'budget' trip. We had a big room with own bathroom, towels, sheets etc were clean and nice. They had spare equipment which was lucky seeing as our fins didn't fit. Staff were all incredible, we didn't have to lift a finger the whole cruise. The deck hands helped you on and off with your equipment and changed your tanks, they even put your fins on for you! The cooks also cleaned up after us and being a vego was no drama at all. They cleaned our rooms every day. Beto the Trip leader was incredible especially. Super friendly and knowledgeable.
There were only 4 in each dive group and we were grouped according to number of dives we'd done which is pretty smart and we went down only 2 groups at a time so not such a busy dive deck; and they made it so the groups who had longer dive times went first, again very smart. They certainly know their stuff." - Kym Beaton, Australia, 26 January 2013 ...
"Even we arrived late the pick up worked out perfect. The boat was waiting and everything was perfectly arranged. Beto did a great job as our diving was slight different to the thinking of our Divemaster, so we were able to change the group and had great dives." - Joerg Koepke, Japan, 8 January 2013 ...
"I have only good words to say about all the boat crew and the diving team. They were all very helpful and offered a quality service. The boat equipment wasn't the newest, but everything worked perfectly and positively exceeded our expectations." - Rodrigo Canalli, Brazil, 24 January 2012 ...
"We only have praise for the crew of Dive Race, good cabin, excellent food, friendly and helpful crew, and the dive director Beto was very professional and an excellent ambassador for the company." - Liam Donnelly, Australia, 16 January 2012 ...
"Dive Race was an excellent ship. The crew were always very helpful and informative, the dive masters were extremely knowledgeable, the food was excellent, and the cruise timetable was well laid out. It was an excellent trip with excellent facilities and crew, and I would be more than happy to travel on the same boat again." - Anneka Hughes, Australia, 10 January 2012 ...
"I can only say that the crew of the MV Dive Race were superb and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I will be using Dive The World's services in the future and may well take another trip on the Dive Race. I will certainly be recommending Dive The World and MV Dive Race to friends and colleagues around the world!!" - James Davies, UK, 19 December 2011 ...
"We went on the liveaboard Dive Race. The Thai dive boat staff and chefs were absolutely wonderful and I have never been treated better by any dive operation anywhere. They were alwys there to help with gear and getting in an out of the water, worked very hard with a genuine smile at all times, and were simply awesome in everyway. The food was well prepared, plentiful and very good overall. I rate the Thai dive boat staff a 10 on a 1-5 scale. They were awesome! They made me (and I think every diver) feel like Jacques Costeau! Bravo!" - Ken Fidalgo, USA, 17 February 2011 ...
"The crew took care about everybody. The first days we had rough sea, so they chose dive sites we were still able to dive relaxed. Safety first was a very good decision. Our divemaster was a good and responsible diver but he didn't know the dives sites as much as I expected. He did a very good job but next time I will choose a more experienced divemaster. " - Joerg Koepke, Germany, 10 January 2011 ...
"Everything was nicely arranged and very orderly, from the cabin cleanliness to dive schedule, from food to crew." - Ng Han Seong, Malaysia, 10 March 2010 ...
"Food was far better than expected. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Facilities fantastic." - Yvonne Aww, Singapore, 22 December 2009 ...
