Carpe Vita Explorer is a sleek, 38 metre long motor yacht, purpose-built in 2011 for Maldives liveaboard diving. Cruises of either 7 or 10 nights depart from Male and take in the best sites of the central atolls including North Male, South Male and Ari Atoll, and occassionally runs trips to the more remote northern and southern atolls of the Maldives.
The emphasis on board Carpe Vita is to dive a lot and relax in style. There are 4 dives per day as standard, plus 2 free beers or wine each day to help you unwind. The diving focus is also evident in the availability of various sizes of dive tanks and nitrox. All diving and tank-filling is done on board the accompanying dhoni dive tender.
The stylish nature of a Carpe Vita Explorer cruise comes in the form of the interior of the boat. Up to 20 guests are accommodated in a range of very spacious, well-appointed en-suite cabins. The cabins are generous in terms of space and comfort - more like hotel rooms than cabins - and feature individual high-definition TV screens and DVD players.
The air conditioned saloon is well-appointed and comes complete with entertainment facilities, movie and book library and games. The sun deck features plenty of comfortable sun beds, a shaded lounge area and a Jacuzzi hot tub for the ultimate in relaxation.

Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinking water, soft drinks, hot drinks, 2 glasses of beer or wine per night with dinner, return transfers to the boat from Male Airport, dives (as detailed in the trips above), experienced English-speaking divemaster(s) (8 divers per guide), SMBs, tanks, weights and weight belts, GST.
Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment (approx. US$ 280 for 7 nights, US$ 370 for 10 nights), dive insurance (available for purchase on board). Fuel surcharge US$ 100 per person for 7 night trip and up to US$ 150 per person for 10 night trip (for special itineraries to the South, the fuel surcharge is US$ 150 per person for 7 night trip and up to US$ 200 per person for 10 night trip). Some of the listed trips might include snorkelling at Hanifaru Bay (park fee of US$ 20 per person). Green Tax (from 1 November 2015 onwards, approx. US$ 6 per person per night), GST on all items and services purchased on board. Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival.

Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose to share a cabin or pay a supplement of 80% of the published price.
Dive clubs and group discounts: For departures between now and Dec. 31, 2014 and Aug 1, 2015 - Dec 31, 2015. Groups of 6 or more receive 1 space for free and save US$ 400 per person on 10 night trips and US$ 300 per person on 7 night trips. The Carpe Vita has a range of accommodation with a total of 10 cabins. This includes 6 good sized Standard cabins located on the lower deck which feature Queen-size and single beds, 2 larger Superior cabins on the middle deck, and 2 upper deck Suites which are larger still. The Superior cabins and Suites feature King size beds that can be split into 2 singles if required.

All diving takes place from the spacious 18m long dhoni which is well equipped with air and nitrox compressors, a bathroom with fresh water shower, plenty of dedicated rinse tanks, wetsuit hangers, shelves for personal belongings and a sun deck.
Food plays an important part in your experience on Carpe Vita Explorer. Making 4 dives a day requires fuel and 3 daily meals are complimented with pre-breakfast, snacks and 2 free glasses of wine or beer after with your evening meal.
The cuisine is mainly international with some elements of Indian and Asian cooking. Fresh sashimi is often served and with 5 dishes per sitting there is always plenty of choice.
International, Indian, Asian, Italian and local cuisine are served, as well as a popular BBQ.
Main meals consist of pre-breakfast, breakfast, lunch & dinner, with snacks in between.
The meals are steward-attended and buffet style in the dedicated open-air dining area on the upper deck.
Snacks, biscuits, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, drinking water, soft drinks, beer and wine (2 glasses per day of either) are all complimentary.
Additional alcoholic drinks are available for purchase on board.
All diets, including vegetarian, can be catered for with prior notice.
