The Baani Explorer is a spacious and comfortable motor yacht which can cater to a maximum of 18 divers in comfort. It takes in a varied safari itinerary including some of the Maldives top dive spots.

All cabins have ensuite bathrooms and individually controlled air-conditioning. There are 7 cabins which can be used for double or twin births, and 2 suites which are much more spacious and have double beds.

The Baani, or 'Gentle Wave', Explorer has a very large saloon where you can enjoy the TV, DVD player and music system, as well as a comfortable bar. On the upper deck in front of the flybridge is a 4-person jacuzzi, where you can drink in the views and play footsy with your buddy. On a liveaboard boat of this size there is plenty of room for finding a quiet spot, and there are both shaded and exposed areas of the sundeck where you can find some time alone to write up your log book or browse through some of the reading material from the boat's library.

One of the stand-out features of the Explorer is that it has enriched air nitrox facilities, so you can add more pleasure time down under on your Maldives diving safari.

Without being a deluxe liveaboard, the Baani Explorer is a comfortable boat and like its sister ship the Baani Adventurer, you can, on most trips, enjoy island visits and a picnic/BBQ on an uninhabited island as well as sightseeing and shopping in the Maldivian capital city of Male on the last day of your tour.

All the diving on the Baani Explorer is done from a 15 metre motorised tender. The Dhoni has 2 compressors and stores all the dive equipment.

All divers are given a Enos unit to use whilst in the water. This is a security GPS locating device for lost/separated divers.

It is the goal of the Explorer liveaboard safaris to show you the most beautiful dive sites of the Maldives, and to do that we have to adapt the routing to seasonal conditions, available time and weather forecasts. The crew ask you to trust them to choose the best possible route each week, and to fully exploit the liveaboard's mobility in every situation. Fixed routes would mean to ignore the inside knowledge of the crew.

Maximum dive depth here is 33 metres.
