Elizabeth on Bay Marina in downtown Nassau is the departure port for the Bahamas Aggressor, which is nearby Nassau International Airport. Return flights from Nassau to the USA are treated as domestic flights, which makes life easier for your onward journey as you can make "domestic" rather than "international" connections.
Arrival/Boarding/Departure: You should aim to arrive Nassau on Saturday, clear customers and take a taxi to 'Elizabeth Bay Marketplace and Marina" (fixed fare) from the taxi stand outside the terminal building. Boarding the Bahamas Aggressor is at 16:00 hrs on Saturday for a 18:00 hrs departure to the night anchorage, prior to the first dives on Sunday morning. Return to port is after lunch on Friday afternoon with check-out at 08:00 hrs on Saturday morning. The crew will transfer you to the airport or nearby hotels. The last dive of the trip will be at around 12.00 noon on the second last day of the trip. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving.
Diving Environment: A 3 to 5 mm full length wetsuit is normally the exposure suit of choice for Bahamas water temperatures: Summer 78-84°F / 25-28°C, Winter: 75-80°F, / 24-27°C (possible 72°F /22°C drop in January). Diving is conducted from the stern of the mothership. The variety of sharks is one of the Bahamas trump cards. You may encounter hammerheads, Caribbean reef sharks, blacktips, tiger sharks, nurse sharks, bull sharks and lemon sharks. You can expect walls and reefs teeming with marine life: stingrays, eagle rays, groupers, possibly dolphins and certainly plenty of macro critters. The macro possibilities include batwing coral crabs, spotted sea hares, flatworms, squat anemone shrimps, Caribbean reef octopus, Bahamian spiny lobsters and Caribbean hermit crabs.
