Nimrod Explorer offers a more personable experience to divers exploring the Great Barrier Reef with a maximum guest count of 18 divers. An experienced crew ensures you get the most out of your Great Barrier Reef liveaboard.

The twin engine catamaran is spacious and stable with features usually only found on much larger vessels. The twin hull has allowed the boat designers to be less frugal than usual with space in both the public areas and in the cabins, doing away with the idea that liveaboards are cramped.

Nimrod Explorer has a well equipped saloon offering relaxation in a roomy lounge after dives, which also doubles as the dining area. A bar contributes to the relaxing atmosphere, and an entertainment area featuring a TV and DVD player caters to movie lovers.

If you prefer the fresh ocean air of the Great Barrier Reef, the Nimrod Explorer offers you 2 open air decks to choose from. The top deck is a large shaded area from where you can enjoy the outdoors without being singed by the sun. The expansive bow area is where you want to go if sun worshiping is your thing.

You can make up to 5 dives per day from Nimrod Explorer depending, of course, on what the weather is doing. All dives are made directly from the well equipped dive deck at the rear of the vessel where twin dive platforms ensure easy entry, with 2 tenders providing additional safety.

Nimrod Explorer offers a trip range of 4 to 8 days, from Cod Hole to the Ribbon Reefs or even further north to the incredible visibility found in the North Coral Sea, or onwards to the lesser visited parts of the Great Barrier Reef towards Papua New Guinea.

Standard trips depart every Tuesday and Saturday, offering divers a chance to interact with some tremendous pelagics including manta rays and, in season, dwarf minke whales.
