Liveaboard Diving Cruises

The World's Best Scuba Destinations

Like you, we love nothing more than the dream holiday experience of a diving liveaboard. Whether you are sailing across remote Asian waters on a traditional schooner or cutting over the Caribbean on a luxury motor yacht, there are few better ways of getting away from it all.

You can see below the range of ideal liveaboard destinations that we recommend for dive cruises. We have divided this dream list into 4 sections to help you find the destination that’s best for you (use our 'pop-up' world map here if you need help in locating a country):

South East Asia

Home to the Coral Triangle, the world's hotspot of marine biodiversity and therefore the planet's capital region for scuba diving. Nowhere else on earth enjoys richer water or such a proliferation of marine life. South East Asia is home to an unparalleled array of life from the tiniest pygmy seahorse in the Lembeh Strait to the mighty whale sharks that frequent the Andaman Sea, and just about everything you can imagine in between.

Red Sea and the Indian Ocean

The Red Sea of Egypt and Sudan is easily accessible to divers from Europe, Africa and Asia and a "must-visit" location for any scuba diver worth their salt. Its geographical features mean that it's teeming with life. The high number of endemic species, together with innumerable wrecks, make it a diver's Valhalla. Isolated island chains in the Indian Ocean such as the Maldives provide rare upwellings of nutrients from the vast depths of the ocean. This makes them high density marine life hotspots, ideal for a diving cruise in this vast stretch of water.

The Americas

Just a hop, skip and a jump south, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America are where many US divers favour for their scuba adventures. From party places like Cozumel to nature-lovers' havens such as Belize, the Galapagos and Cocos islands, and Cuba's Jardines de la Reina, the area is rich not only in underwater sights but also beautiful scenery. This fascinating area of the ocean is bejeweled with islands and fantastic liveaboard cruise destinations - east to west from Mexico to Guadaloupe, and north to south from Trinidad to the British Virgin Islands.

Australasia and the Pacific

Also partly within the Coral Triangle (e.g. the Solomons Islands and Papua New Guinea), this area enjoys excellent diversity too and some of the finest diving conditions on earth. The Great Barrier Reef, the largest living construction on earth, has long been famed as a natural wonder. Add to this the picture-postcard paradises found in the tropical islands scattered around the Pacific such as Micronesia and it is clear why so many choose to dive in this region.

Other destinations in which we offer liveaboard diving: Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Cuba, the Philippines, East Timor, Hawaii, Micronesia, Turks & Caicos.

There are plenty of places in the world where scuba diving is possible, hugely rewarding and even unique, but we cannot possibly include every stretch of water we know. So with apologies to places like Kamchatka and Ireland, we prefer to focus on dive cruise destinations in warmer climes, in the general region of the Equator where the Sun's nourishing energy produces the highest profusion of marine life. However we may be tempted to add other places worthy of special mention so keep a look out on the Dive The World Blog for new and exciting destinations.
